Cialis Mechanism

Cialis belongs to the family of drugs that inhibit and restrain the working of the (PDE5) Phosphodiesterase-5 enzyme, which is responsible for reducing the erectile ability in men. Cialis is a popular drug for the treatment of people with erectile dysfunction, a condition where a man fails to achieve or maintain an erection. Erectile dysfunction is generally caused due to arterial or neurological problems that block the flow of blood in the nerves going to the penile region. A man cannot attain an erection unless there is a sufficient amount of blood in the penis.

A man can get an erection only when he is sexually stimulated, as the flow of blood in the penis increases during sexual stimulation. The smooth corpus cavernosa muscles that surround the penis, running along its entire length, and the arteries carrying blood to the penis relax when a man is sexually excited.
